Romney ignores a medical marijuana patient’s question. A classic politician technique when he doesn’t want to look bad… I believe it back fired though. So would you arrest this man?

A Federal Medical Marijuna Patient’s Testimony

Michigan needs 500,000 signature before putting their Medical Marijuana Act on the November 2008 ballot. If successful Ohio is expected to follow in Michigan’s footsteps. To the rigth is an example of what medical marijuana looks like (click for larger view).

Online and Print

One thing that stuck with me from this reading was it’s comparison between print and online texts. I also believe that print is still much more convenient than online reading. I would rather read an article in a newspaper rather than online too. Simply because you can take print where ever you go and its always easier on the eyes. I do still read things online all the time but I tend to skim or only read short articles. It would take me a long time to read a book online. Just like this post, I wouldn’t read it if it were too lengthy. I would print it out and then read it if I had to. That’s the biggest advantage print has, you can take it anywhere.

C.R.A.P.!

C.R.A.P.  is an important and useful (easy to remember) acronym for web design. Contrast helps the audience quickly see items and their importance. Contrast especially can make things on a web page more appealing. Repetition is a good tool because it allows the viewer to already know where things will be on a different page or how it will be set up. Alignment is an obvious key to a successful site. If you align everything differently it will confuse a viewer and that’s not what you want to be doing. Proximity is also very important because it lets the reader see connection between objects, and gives reason to put things in certain places instead of at random.  So to make a good looking webpage be sure to have C.R.A.P. on your mind.

Remediation Translation

First part didn’t work.

The second part of the reading was interesting though. Well, at least a little interesting since I enjoy using Flash. The loop that he refers to is very intriguing because there is/was a very big fad on the internet to make funny, random, and usually very dumb loops with Flash. This isn’t even with just Flash though You’re the Man Now Dog  is a website based on nothing but creating a basic webpage complimented by an audio clip that loops endlessly.  Also I can see how Flash could so easily replace a simple jpeg on a website. Because a Flash “image” could be interactive, motioned, and looped. I guess in this case Flash could be a technology that will make jpegs on a website remediate.

The first picture I chose to represent th typical chore of a male and female. I also chose to use the stick figures seen on restroom signs to easily distinguish the two and to show that there is suppose to be a classification for the two different images. The female is vacuuming which is stereotypical but effective. The male is riding a tractor. This is also metaphorical because males tend to be outside junkies while females are usually pictured doing inside house chores.

The second picture is a compare/contrast picture. It could also be used for restroom doors. The high heels are an ideal shoe choice for females while the plain shoes are the usual dress shoe choice for males.
